The airports of 2017 had

Nine of the ten largest German airports have welcomed 2017 more passengers. Also, Zurich and Vienna. And in Germany there is a new number six.

For many of the major European airports by 2017 was a good year. Paris Charles de Gaulle welcomed 69.5 million passengers, and rose by 5.4 percent compared to the previous year. In London Heathrow, there were 78 million passengers – an increase of 3.1 percent compared to 2016. Also in the German-speaking area, the location was good: Zurich and Vienna are defined for both.

In Germany, the airport Association ADV expects that in 2018, a growth of passenger demand of 4.2 percent. And also 2017. The largest German airport in Frankfurt am Main was recorded in 2016, a decline in the number of passengers. In the past year, the low-cost airline Ryanair had its Premiere in Frankfurt and even established customers such as Lufthansa. So the airport came to 64.5 million passengers. This means a Plus of 6.1 percent and a new record. Especially the European traffic grew by 7.4 per cent.

Twice the double-digit growth

And Frankfurt was hardly alone: From the ten (the number of passengers, measured), the largest German airports were up nine in the number of passengers, only one recorded a Minus. Two Airports could even look forward to a double-digit percentage range. In addition, there was a change on the places six and seven of the Top Ten.
