Trump steals the show stretch Dreamliner

The President used the rollout of the new Dreamliner, to proclaim his America-first slogans. Precisely, the aircraft is but an example of Boeing's international orientation.

Everything what is happening currently in United States and has somehow to do with Donald Trump, seems absurd. The rollout of Boeings of latest machine as well. The aircraft manufacturer of the public proudly presented the stretch Dreamliner on Friday (February 17). And the President visited the company to mark the occasion. "It is a beautiful aircraft", raved about Trump. «A wonderful work of art.»

«The name says it all. Dreamliner. Great name», he raved on. CEO Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing was satisfied. «I think Trump was impressed what he saw at the tour of the plant», says the Manager. «Go to production in the USA.»

Very international aircraft

That's not entirely wrong. After all, the pilot in the United States is developed and composed. But the statement is not really true then also again. Even more absurd was also trumps performance at Boeing, where he once again stressed that you should put less on imports and as possible in their own country must buy so much.

So many components from international suppliers such as the 787-10 plug in any Other aircraft by Boeing. Only the front part of the fuselage, the tail and the vertical stabiliser will be built in the United States. The rest of the parts come from around the world: France, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Mexico are just a few examples of supplier countries.

Less range

The 787-10 is just over 68 meters long and 330 passengers. Because the aircraft through the stretched fuselage is heavier, it can carry less fuel. The range is 11.910 kilometers. By comparison, the Boeing 787-9 can fly more than 15,000 kilometers.

In the coming weeks, the stretch Dreamliner should withdraw first. Currently, there are orders for 149 aircraft of the type from nine different customers.
