Corendon has now a Boeing 747

The Turkish-Dutch tourism group has acquired a Jumbo Jet. Will fly it but never. The former Boeing 747 of KLM is to the attraction of a hotel.

At the end of November she went into retirement. KLM, the Boeing 747-400 with the registration PH-BFB for the last Time on a flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam Schiphol. Then the 29-year-old Jumbo Jet was ausgeflottet with the Taufnahmen City of Bangkok from the Dutch national airline. He has been replaced by more fuel-efficient, two-engine long-haul aircraft.

But now, the Boeing graduated from the 747 to be retired again for a flight. It was launched on Friday (14. December) in Rome Fiumicino airport and landed in Amsterdam. She did but in a new dress – the Turkish-Dutch tourism group Corendon. The Jumbo Jet will fly but never for the group's own Airlines. He first gets rid of an aircraft recycling company sellable part and coming in February from the airport Schiphol to Badhoevedorp.

Highway has to be closed

In the suburb of Amsterdam with Corendon Village Hotel. And the Boeing 747 will be the new attraction of the four-star hotel with 680 rooms. "This is spectacular, very exciting," says Corendon Manager Atilay Uslu. The relocation is a logistical Herculean task. The plane is transported over 16 fields of different farmers, and also on the A9. It is one of the busiest highways of the Netherlands, and must be temporarily closed to allow the plane to carry.

Corendon International Travel brings travelers from all over Europe for more than 18 years of age to Antalya and co. Since 2005, the Turkish group is doing it with the own Charter airline Corendon Airlines. It has now a branch in the Netherlands (Corendon Dutch) and in Malta (Corendon Europe).
