Airport Houston astronaut food – served; almost, at least

50 years after the moon landing, a Restaurant in the airport in Houston and dishes inspired by the menu of the astronauts served. They look quite a bit different than the originals.

50 years ago that people first landed on the moon. 20. In July 1969, were the astronauts of the United States, the first steps on the moon. Coordinated all of this from Houston, Texas. The Ember Tavern and the Tanglewood Grille, in the United Airlines Terminal of the airport serves dishes inspired by food plan by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. The are then, for example, Mini Frankfurter with Apple sauce or a tuna salad. However, the guests get to eat normally on plates and not in the way that the astronauts ate it on its Mission.

Three minutes of kneading until the meal

In the more than 200-page press release, which sent the Nasa 1969 Apollo 11, it is stated, that the Crew are more than 70 different food and Snacks available. All were freeze-dried and could be transformed with water into a meal. After you had added the water, had to knead the astronauts for three minutes on them. Then you could take it directly from the packaging itself.
