Accident aircraft in southern Sudan

A South Supreme Airlines aircraft is landing in Wau in southern Sudan has an accident. All passengers and crew members survived.

Pictures from the scene show a badly damaged aircraft. The South Supreme airlines turboprop engine was started on Monday (March 20) in the southern Sudanese capital of Juba and had the provincial town of Wau as the target. Apparently, the accident happened local time at the landing at around 15: 00.

An eyewitness had first a local radio station reported, it was smoke from the Antonov An-26 * entered. Then, she was crashed and went up in flames.  As images of spot, the wreck is indeed burnt out on the ground. It is also broken. It was however no crash, as became clear later. The machine rather happened during landing with a fire truck together.

Written history

Local media say that 45 to 49 people aboard the plane South Supreme airlines had found. First, it was said that all had died. Then, it was said that between 9 and 14 of them have survived. Later the Chief of the airline but the newspaper said national courier that all occupants alive have been.

South Supreme airlines had last financial problems and in the autumn 2015 at least temporarily halted the operation. Their base is located at Juba airport. Most recently, she flew to Entebbe in Uganda. 2013, the airline wrote history when they performed the first flight between southern Sudan and the former enemy of Sudan.

Short break in Africa

Africa had long been a very poor reputation when it comes to aviation security. 2016 showed the continent but the best performance for years. There were zero fatalities and zero total loss, so the world Aviation Association IATA.
