Government jet has apparently a total loss

In April, a Bombardier Global 5000 flight readiness in Schoenefeld, made a dramatic landing. Now it looks as if the Jet would have to be taken out of service.

Shortly after the Bombardier Global 5000 flight standby on 16. April was lifted at Berlin-Schönefeld airport for a test flight, turned it around with control issues again. At the landing, there was another uncontrolled roll movements, and the tips of the wings touched the ground. Now Bombardier has informed, according to the news magazine der Spiegel, the inspector General of the Bundeswehr, that the aircraft has suffered a dramatic landing a total loss.

According to the manufacturer, the repair costs would be because of the great damage to the wings and on the chassis is significantly higher than the market value of the aircraft of approximately eight to eleven million dollars, they say. Three of the four tie-bars to the suspension of the wings, and the entire chassis would need to be replaced, the magazine writes. This was not only expensive and difficult, since many components are not available. The appropriate repair would also do shorter maintenance intervals necessary.
